About Me

Hey!

What’s up?

I’m good, thanks for asking!

And thanks for visiting my website! It honestly means a lot. A lot of work goes into the photos I take and it’s nice to have people like you stopping by my website to check them out!

Anyway, I’m Dylan. My brother got a camera once and I liked it a lot so I got one too. And then I got Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. And then I bought another lens. And another lens. And then another camera. Maybe it’s an addiction at this point?

I’m from Harpswell, Maine, and I’ve lived in Maine my whole life. My go-to spot is Acadia National Park. I hadn’t even been before 2017, but since then I haven’t gone more than a handful of weeks without going. I’ve also been trying to explore other spots lately to get out of my comfort zone. It’s awesome to be able to visualize a composition in your head because you know an area so well, but the true test is being able to put together a pleasing image, under a time crunch, at a location you’ve never been to.

I think the best part of photography is the adventure and looking deeper into a scene than most people would. “Oh, that’s pretty,” turns into “okay, how can I position my camera to best show off what’s in front of me?” It’s also a great excuse to go visit some beautiful places. Not that you need an excuse to go stare at an amazing view, but “I wanna go shoot at this location” sounds more compelling than “let’s drive three hours one way to maybe go see a nice sunset.” Plus you come away with something, frozen in time, that you can look back on years from now and say “hey remember that time?”

Anyway, I appreciate you stopping by my website! If you see anything you like, feel free to order a print here.
